Fixed-Mounted Infrared Temperature Sensor

Model 4000 Snow

  • Optimized Temperature Range
  • Fixed-Mounted
  • Enhanced Accuracy
  • Stainless Steel Case
  • Sealed Case and Connector
  • FOV of 4 Degrees
  • Ball & Swivel Mount

The Model 4000 SNOW-THERM is a non-contact infrared temperature sensor that can be fixed-mounted for continual monitoring of snow surfaces.   It  has a  special  temperature   range of -40ºC to 70ºC with 0.1ºC resolution.

The accuracy of the SNOW-THERM is optimized for the application to ±0.3ºC from a target temperature of -10ºC to a target temperature of +10 ºC. Under the target temperature of -10 ºC or over the target temperature of +10ºC, the accuracy is ±0.5ºC.  This enhances the accuracy from the normal Model 4000.4ZL in the range of -10ºC to +10ºC.

The SSNOW-THERM has a standard Field of View (FOV) of 4º.  This sensor can operate in environments from -40ºC to 70ºC with up to 99% Relative Humidity, Non-Condensing.

The standard output for the SNOW-THERM is Analog Millivolt (10.0mV/ ºC) with optional outputs of 4-20 mA and 0-5 Volt.

Response time of the instrument is 0.1 Second.  This sensor is 2” in diameter by 3” in length.  It is mounted with a Ball & Socket Swivel Mount.

The SNOW-THERM can read temperatures from 2cm to 300 meters.
